Cars That Run In Water.

A Swiss company called Rinspeed says it has created the world's first truly submersible car - named "sQuba," the car can run both on road, & at the push of a button - go up to 10 meters (33 feet) underwater. This car has a steel chassis, while the body panels are made of carbon nanotubes. On road, an electric motor provides rear-wheel drive & underwater, its two propellers & two jet drives which are at work. Its an environmentally friendly design. A self-contained on-board oxygen system is also included in this two-seater to supply the driver & passenger with fresh air. Its also said that it has costed more than 1 million euros ($1.62 million) to make the only sQuba built so far.





Here is another one from Rinspeed called "Splash", another of the high performance amphibious vehicle. It looks quite a stylish car that can be driven at high speeds in the water too.







The state of the Russian roads are known to all, & if someone has to go through a road filled with water, how would that be? Here is a test drive of Lada Niva, which was made to drive under water.



This is supposed to be designed & built by special Soviet car company during the sixties. In comparison to the technology & the features available in the cars during those days, this car was far advanced. It had a press button to start the engine, the gear selected was shown in the dashboard, & it had heating both the windscreens. And the best part was it could go in water & also on the road like any other car.

Batmobile For Sale.

These are the photos of Batmobile that came up for sale on eBay at a cool $500,000. The car is 20 feet long, 8 feet in width, powered by a Chevrolet 350 engine & has a custom-built chassis. It has no doors, and the only way to get behind the wheel is to get in through the top where the canopy opens, just like in the movie. Though now the item has been removed from the site, well we're guessing this auction has a probability of reappearing soon hopeful at a lesser starting price.

The Uno weighs about 120 lb & there are no controls except for an on-off button. To go forward all you got to do is push your body weight forward & to back up, just lean back on the seat. One other thing the farther you lean, the faster it accelerates.

Brinks Dynamics Carver: The fully automatic hydraulic-mechanical DVC system makes this Craver drives like a car & bank like a motorcycle. It's capable of carrying two people, or one person with luggage.

Peraves Ecomobile: manufactured by the Swiss company Peraves, looks like an aero plane cockpit. Powered by liquid cooled 4 cylinder BMW K series motorcycle engine with a top speed of 202 miles per hour.

Cree SAM: a product of Swiss company Cree Ltd & is an environmentally friendly zero emissions vehicle powered by an electric motor.

Clever.

Mercedes F 300 Life-Jet: it can attain speeds similar to those of a motorbike. Electronic system monitors the F 300 Life-Jet's speed, acceleration & angle.

Toyota PM: is highly maneuverable thanks to its castor like wheels capable of rotating through 180 degrees.

With this one you wont be needing the elevator, just park it below your window & press the button & get into your home through the window.

World's Fastest Limousine.

Made from a Ferrari 360 Modena that is halved & stretched by 9.5ft with a section of hand-built carbon fibre. A 3.6 litre V8 engine gives a top speed of around 166mph (just 17mph less than the standard 183mph Modena) & it can go from 0 to 60mph in less than six seconds. It lost little of its performance because it weighs just 160kg more than the original 1390kg car. This 23ft long, the 400bhp vehicle has been equipped with an extra six seats & can carry eight passengers in total & the car gives an average of 15mpg on the motorway. It has a six speaker surround sound system & slimline DVD built in & apart from this, it has a 10-inch flat screen monitor between each pair of seats which relays images from cameras fixed on the outside of the vehicle. The project is thought to be around £200,000 & the world's fastest limousine is available to rent - £700 an hour.

Superboat XSR48.

'The XSR48 is a supercar on water, a luxury powerboat with supercar looks' - XSMG. The 48-foot powerboat powered by two diesel engines, produces no less than 1600hp from two bi-turbo diesel engines & top speed of 85 knots. It's a combination of high performance of a super car with super yacht styling. The interiors are as impressive as the exterior. One may choose a large 2m long double bed, or two singles or perhaps go in for customization as per their needs. Apart from this, it has an entertainment system including four 12-inch LCD screens, a fridge & microwave. It's said that only 100 of these super boats will be manufactured in Lymington with a price of around £1.25M.

The Gold Porsche.

The Gold Porsche, created by a company Visualis in Germany & car of choice was a Boxster (since its Porsche's smallest model). It's made out of 22 carat gold at the hands of artists rather than those working in the factory. Piece by piece, the manual work created a real one-of-a-kind as never seen before car. No part was left untouched. All the controls, steering wheel, doorknobs down to the car's body & alloy wheels were transformed to gold. These cars aren't made just for art galleries only, they are meant for some very wealthy owners.

Here is a transformed Boeing 727 jet airplane into real big limousine. Chassis & running gear of a Mercedes-Benz bus, is been used for this Boeing 727 Jet Limo to make it street legal - or at least that's what been said. Weighs 24,000 pounds, equipped with a dance floor, big screen TV, & a full bar. Laser lights, fog machine, strobe lighting & "aerodynamic seats" are also on the menu. What more, it found a buyer on an auction site for $275k!

Luxury & style do come with a hefty price tag & in this case it's EUR 900,000 ($1.35 million US). The Maybach Landaulet is powered by an uprated V12 engine (co-designed by AMG) with twin turbochargers & water inter-cooling develops a maximum output of 450 kW/612 hp. The Maybach Landaulet will offer an open-air experience, a very cool rear folding roof, while the driver's compartment remains completely enclosed. The first customer vehicles are due to leave Maybach Manufaktur in autumn 2008.
