Cool Active Life Movement Advertisements.

Here we have these interesting advertisements from the Active Life Movement, with the tagline "keep obesity away from your child" from Austin-based design firm Latinworks. What makes this advertisement different is that instead of using fat kids, they show fat toys: a superhero, a doll and others childhood toys.

Print Origami Artwork.

Here we have some interesting print origami sculptures by Jacquet Fritz Junior and photographed by Matthieu Gauchet. These are printed on a black sheet of polymer thermoplastic (PVC) covered with unpolished film.

All of us are familiar that crayons are used for drawing, but C Faur uses crayons as a medium to express his creativity. He uses numerous crayons to create beautiful photo-real images. It involves hundreds of differently colored hand cast crayons to create this amazing work of art.

Circus Days and Circus Nights.

In past we have seen quite a few posts dealing with paper art, but what we have here is something which deserves to be mentioned on this blog as these are really impressive. Here we have 'Circus Days and Circus Nights by Su Blackwell'; using old books as her medium, she expressed her creativity beautiful by creating intricate sculptures. To create these, all she needed was to cut and glue the pages of books and the rest is her creativity that shows beautifully in miniature dioramas glowing with lights in wood and glass boxes.

Nail Mosaic.

A few years ago Tirana (Albania)-based artist Saimir Strati made a very large mosaic out of nails, a portrait of Leonardo Da Vinci. According to the Guinness Book of World Records its world's largest nail mosaic with about 500,000 industrial nails. Using industrial nails, the artist re-created the self-portrait of Leonardo Da Vinci using nearly 400 kilos which covered a 2 x 4m surface. It was created in the month of September 2006 and it's said that it took about '24 days' to create this portrait.

Foodscapes.

In past we have seen many posts dealing with food art, but what we have here is something which surpasses all of those. These are the creations of the London-based photographer Carl Warner who created these foodscapes: landscapes made of food. In these pictures, we see pea pod boat, land made of bread and potatoes, a sea of salmon parmesan cliffs with sweet potato boulders, a red cabbage sky, broccoli tree …………. It takes lots of patience for this amazing food art; one needs to spend quite a bit of time in supermarket for buying the vegetables; for example, finding the right shaped broccoli to use for a tree. Then comes the planning which is yet another important task and these images can take up to two or three days to build and be photographed. Apart from this, it needs a couple of days for retouching and fine-tuning them. But the results are nothing less than astonishing. If you are interested in buying the prints on these, click here.

Newspaper Glasses.

Here we have another interesting use of the newspapers, in past we have seen many interesting stuffs created using newspapers. Here we have these glasses made from newspapers using a little tape. All you need to do is to roll small pieces of newspapers on a small glass, fold the bottom, and tape it, take it out of the glass, turn it right side up, fold in the edges all around the top. Readymechs:


Readymechs are flat pack toys that you can print and build in about 10-15 minutes. These are designed to accommodate on an 8.5"x11" page and can be printed with any printer. All you'll need is a double-sided tape, thick matte paper.

Retouching.

Here we have some of the fascinating work by the French retoucher Christophe Huet, who is a Master of his field. He is the one who has created the famous advertising for Playstation, AOL, Cartier, Hermes and many more. You can spend quite a lot of time going through all his work and most interesting would be the 'making of' slideshows where one can see the process of each image. Its truly interesting and amazing!
