'Venus" Natural Crystal Chair.

Tokujin Yoshioka's 'Venus', chair made from natural crystal will be presented at 'Second Nature', an exhibition to take place in Tokyo from October 17th to January 18th, 2009. The exhibit will take place at '21_21 Design Sight' in Roppongi, Tokyo. The exhibits includes the works of other too: Noriko Ambe, Campana Brothers, Ross Lovegrove, Kaiji Moriyama, Makoto Azuma, Asuka Katagiri Yukio Nakagawa and Takeshi Kushida. The interesting part is that the exhibits which will be based on the theme 'Second Nature', which means that they aren't inspired by nature or intending to imitate it, but instead they create new natural forms. At the 'Second Nature' Tokujin Yoshioka would be installing four large water tanks, which will be holding a fiber immersed in them, and the visitors will be able to see the process of the structure growing. And the best part is that the final results aren't in the hands of the humans and is left up to the nature. The images displayed below are the prototypes of the full size model.
