So how did this bike end up being there? A new way of parking or its fixed to the building permanently? Earlier we have seen a car parked on side of a building & now it's a bike.
Not only us but any one will be amazed by this amazing building. Much cant be said about except that it's really something you don't come across very often. "Twenty years ago, Pierre Cardin was looking for a house in Cannes, but he couldn't stand the prospect of the unoriginal villas that had multiplied all over the Côte d'Azur. He wanted the architectural equivalent of his avant-garde creations in fashion. Then, cutting across a point of land with a magnificent view of the Mediterranean, he happened upon a construction site. The project was being built by an architect named Antti Lovag for an industrialist with whom Lovag had become friends while building a previous house. The current one was most intriguing: It was to be a bubble-house, an unusual enterprise intended to demonstrate the possibility of short-circuiting traditional architecture in the name of original, contemporary design."

This piece of art work was welded together, one upside down on top of the other from two yellow buses. "This idea came from BCohen, president of Business Leaders for Sensible Priorities along with artist Stefan Sagmeister."
This is the art work of "Mr. Wilson, one of Britain's best-known sculptors, is renowned for drawing inspiration from the worlds of construction and engineering, and Turning The Place Over is no exception. The artwork, called Turning The Place Over, will be launched on June 20 and will run until the end of 2008. It is costing £450,000 - with Culture Company paying £150,000." It's described as the most daring piece of public art ever commissioned in the UK.

According to a researcher (sic) at Cambridge University, it doesn't matter in what order the letters in a word are, the only important thing is that the first and last letter be at the right place. The rest can be a total mixed up and you can still read it without problem. This is because the human mind does not read every letter by itself but the word as a whole."
If you watch the above images from your seat in front of the computer, Mr. Angry is on the left, and Mrs. Calm is on the right.Get up from your seat, and move back. They switch places! "This illusion was created by Dr. Aude Oliva & Philippe G. Schyns, MIT illustrates the ability of the visual system to separate information coming from different spatial frequency channels."
Here is another piece of work created by Dr. Aude Oliva (Ph.D. Brain and Cognitive Sciences, MIT) & Dr. Antonio Torralba (Ph.D. Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory). Watch the above images while seated in front of the computer. Now get up from your seat & walk a few paces & you will be astonished to see the change in their expressions. Both the images are a great piece of work & we think none others were able to generate anything this similar in Photoshop.

Cenote Zacaton, near the northeastern coast of Mexico, is the deepest known water-filled sinkhole in the world. "Bottom of world's deepest sinkhole found 318 meters below surface. The world's deepest sinkhole has been discovered with the help of a robotic vehicle designed for underwater exploration by the National Aeronautic Space Agency (NASA).
The fortnight-long NASA-funded exploration went down repeatedly into the depths of Mexico's El Zacaton sinkhole last month and found a previously undiscovered bottom 318 meters below the surface.
The vehicle employed autonomous navigation and mapping systems developed by Carnegie Mellon University's Robotics Institute and now has generated a sonar map of its inner dimensions." Cenote Zacaton, located near the northeastern coast of Mexico.

"Peggy was meticulously constructed over the course of five months. It is comprised of 2788 hand cut, sanded, and painted dowels that when put together form a modern interpretation of a painting by artist Roy Lichtenstein entitled, "m-maybe." It measures seven feet wide by three feet tall. The result is a cross between a graphic art image, sculpture, and installation which offers the viewer a different experience from every angle."
Kennecott Copper's Bingham Canyon Mine - the world's largest openpit mine or to say the world's largest man-made structure. "This open faced mine is the largest man-made excavation on earth, stretching two-and-a-half miles wide and 3,960 feet deep. What was a mountain has been mined away to form this huge openpit. It was an interesting place, apparently the largest openpit mine in the world where they have essentially turned a mountain inside out by moving over 6 billion tons of rock and ore since its working began in 1906. It continues to grow with 500,000 tons of material being hauled out each day. Engineers estimate the hole will continue to grow another 650 feet deeper, at which point it will not be financially viable to continue mining."
The mountain peak you see at the end of Bingham canyon in the picture above taken approximately in the early 1920s.
"The trucks typically carry about 300 tons of rock per trip. Interestingly, the tires on these things run anywhere from $18,000 to $26,000 and last only nine months. "

"Since 1906, the mine has produced approximately 17 million tons of copper, making it the most productive copper mine in history. The mine also has produced about 23 million ounces of gold, 190 million ounces of silver, and 890 million pounds of molybdenum, and it also produces about a million tons of sulfuric acid every year."
Kennecott maintains a visitor center and mine overlook above the mine, at 6700 ft. elevation. Open daily from 8AM to 8PM, April 1 to October 31. The mine is about a half-hour drive from Salt Lake City. "One of their claims to fame is that they are one of two man made structures easily visible from space (The Great Wall being the other)."

The world's biggest hole is located in Mirny, Eastern Siberia, Russia. "Winter temperatures in Mirny, a town just below the Arctic Circle, average -40 Celsius. The town was founded in 1955 when geologists came to check the area's substantial mineral wealth. Consequently, Mirny's defining feature is a 1 1/2 km wide, 500 m deep hole, which is the now unused diamond mine. The town is strictly off limits to outsiders without a special permit". This truck loader is one of the biggest in the world - length 13.36 meters, width 7.78 meters & height 6.65 meters. The giant machine refered above appears just a small point in this image
The suction above the hole resulted in several helicopter going down, so no flights are allowed above the hole now.

One of the most identifiable interstellar cloud in the sky, the Horsehead in Orion, is part of a large, dark, molecular cloud. Also known as Barnard 33, the unusual shape was first discovered on a photographic plate in the late 1800s. The red glow originates from hydrogen gas predominantly behind the cloud.
This expansive (1-degree wide) telescopic view looks out along the plane of our Milky Way Galaxy toward the cloud rich constellation Cygnus the Swan. It is centered on a bright hydrogen region recorded in the 1959 catalog by astronomer Stewart Sharpless as Sh2-101.
The two brightest objects in the night sky appeared to go right past each other last week. On the night of May 19, Earth's Moon and the planet Venus were visible in the same part of the sky, and at closest approach were less than one degree apart.
The dust is so thick in the center of NGC 1333 that you can hardly see the stars forming. Conversely, the very dust clouds that hide the stars also reflects their optical light, giving NGC 1333's predominantly blue glow the general designation of a reflection cloud.
Where are the stars in M81, one of the closest major spiral galaxies? To help find out, astronomers took a deep image in ultraviolet light of the sprawling spiral with the Earth-orbiting Galex telescope. Hot stars release more ultraviolet than cool stars, and are frequently associated with young open clusters of stars and energetic star forming regions.
Staring across interstellar space, the alluring Cat's Eye 1ies three thousand light-years from Earth. A classic planetary cloud, the Cat's Eye (NGC 6543) represents a final, brief yet glorious phase in the life of a sun-like star.
One of the brightest galaxies in planet Earth's sky and similar in size to the Milky Way, big, beautiful spiral M81 lies 11.8 million light-years away in the northern constellation Ursa Major. This remarkably deep image of the region reveals details in the bright yellow core, but at the same time follows fainter features along the galaxy's gorgeous blue spiral arms and sweeping dust lanes.
Many spiral galaxies have bars across their centers. Even our own Milky Way Galaxy is thought to have a modest central bar.
What could cause a cloud to appear square? No one is quite sure. The star system known as MWC 922, however, appears to be imbedded in a cloud with just such a shape.
Higher than the highest mountain, higher than the highest airplane, lies the realm of the aurora. Aurora rarely reach below 60 kilometers, and can range up to 1000 kilometers.
If you traveled to the Moon's near side, you could see the same event as a solar eclipse, with the disk of our fair planet Earth completely blocking out the Sun. For a moon-based observer's view, graphic artist Hana Gartstein offers this composite illustration.
Sunprint paper allows you to take "Solar Photographs by laying things on top of the paper and then exposing it to the sun. When you have finished exposing the image you want you dip it in water and the picture stays."
What you will be needing is just "water, sunshine, and a little imagination for hours of fun making photographic-type prints with the Sunprint Kit."
So how does this work? "To make a Sunprint, place an interesting object on a sheet of Sunprint paper, expose it to the sun for a few minutes, immerse the paper in water, and watch as a permanent image appears."
If your are among those who love camping in the wild, then this is something for you: Solar Powered Tent.

Dutch Artist Desiree Palmen, creates clothing being flowed together with the environment. In the past Désirée Palmen has showed great interest in biology and geology. In drawings she added her own interpretations to scientific facts. She exhibited in natural history surroundings, and in other museums more often than in the art museums. And then only in the surrounding countries such as Belgium and Germany, as if she, argued from the point of view of the Dutch art world, only puts her work under the care of a disguised context - even before the camouflage became her topic.
Do you find any special reason why these 3 guys are standing beside a photo? No? The fact is that this photo is no photo. Confused? Yes this is actually a painting! This is a photo realistic painting of Tica by Dru Blair. Check out the various stages of painting & a close up.
"This is a painting completed in February 2005. It was a Portrait Class project that I decided to finish in my spare time after the workshop. It probably took a total of around 65-75 hours to complete. The small images are step by step photographs taken during the painting process, and the large image is the final painting after detail and skin texture are added with an eraser and colored pencil. The main colors are blocked in at the beginning, but refinement is withheld until the very end."

Developed by Hanson Robotics, Jules is their latest humanoid creation, which made its official debut at NextFest 2006.
"Jules is something of a complete package with a combination of interesting features. By integrating natural language processing with ASR, TTS, computer vision, artistry, and narrative, you can have a natural, interactive conversation with Jules.
The software allowing Jules such advanced capacity for interaction was developed in collaboration with Personality Forge, Benji Adams, and Heather McKeen. Jules combines the work of writers who author the robots dialogue using chat-bot tools, with natural-language AI (such as LSA statistical search techniques) and word.net to simulate an human conversational intelligence.
Jules also uses computer vision, including face tracking and face recognition, to simulate complete verbal and nonverbal interaction, such as maintaining eye contact and turning to follow fellow conversationalists. Jules now resides at the University of West England in Bristol."
