Can this be used for all cars? I do know it did work for my Honda but i doubt that it works for all cars.
9.9 I predict a lot more missing cars.
Or you could carry a spare key around instead of a tennis ball.
It won't work with every lock/car but it's worth a try to find out if it works on yours, so you know if it will work in a pinch.
Or someone is activating the key ?
You do realize that you just gave people a way to break into cars that isn't theres.
This is old hat. We were doing this when I was a teenager (15 odd years ago!).
It only works on cars with vacuum based lock systems, which are few and far between nowadays...
I was wondering if they could've shown a reference to how big the hold needed to be? :o
tested in 3 different cars peugeot 2006 , tercel toyota 1993, corolla 2004 toyota and works fine
Neat, but I could do without that obnoxious music.
Ah...What about keeping an extra key in the tennis ball?
the girl in the video was soo cute
not sure we needed a video... you could explain this in three sentences
Ace,
lets hope that the kids at the youth center do not come across this trick or that it is not a wide spread issue among a number of car brands/models
Your car has problems.....I'd suggest getting a new cylinder for the lock....
Or, you could just keep a spare key in your purse.
interesting blog.. keep up the good work!
It just worked for me. Toyota Camry. It took about 10 tries.
What if you locked yourself inside the car and can't reach the outside key hole?
"What if you locked yourself inside the car....."
Please tell me that wasn't a seroius question? If you lock yourself inside the car then your already on the INSIDE!!!! you just have to reach over and lift the lock!!!!
that girl is sooo cute, someone get me her number please
I'm gonna try it on my Mclaren... I'll let everyone know how it goes.
can i use the ball to lock the car?
If you lock your tennis ball in the car, use your keys to get it out.
notice the nice dent in her door though, id be careful about pushing the door panel in
can't fit a tennis ball in my pocket
Kewl, now I can get my blonde girlfriend out of the car next time she gets locked in.
xcelente video... thanks!!!!
gotta try that sometime!
in case you havn't noticed he didn't post this to help you unlock YOUR car so quit posting about keeping spare keys on you
Is it only me who is not able to view the video!???
Is there a youtube link to the video..pls..
This may help you get in, but if it's a fairly recent car with an immobilizer system the car isn't going anywhere.
Why not just keep a spare key in your purse...
Notice the car has a dent around the lock. Not trying it on my truck.
just tried it on my xterra and it did work.
It's true she really looks innocent...
With my luck I'd lock myself IN the car and my tennis ball would be in my garage.
just put the tennis ball on your antenna, no need to carry it!
$5 says someone else unlocked the car electronically while she was pushing the tennis ball against it.
I used to do that 12-15 years ago on cars in england with central locking its not new and its not unique.I used half a tennis ball with the cut edge coated in butter or vaseline for a better vaccuum seal.
Oh, it's very good. I always forget my keys, actually I forget not only keys, but now I have one problem less:)
Car Using A Tennis Ball... Finally found really useful information on the topic, thank you.
Thanks for your nice post!
huh.
that only works for old cars.
I swear Blondie is not as innocent as she looks. Nice idea, though ;-)
This works like .001% of the time. It's easier to call a locksmith than try this.
Is that really possible?
I'm going to try this out and see. Next up? Ebay. The unlocking tennis ball. Ha Ha.
I recently came across your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I don't know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often.
